Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

Termato is a self-hosted application. The short version: your code, your terminal sessions, your history, and your keystrokes never touch our servers, because there are no servers in the middle. We don't have your data, and we couldn't see it if we tried.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the Termato software (the terminal and coding workspace you install on your own hardware) and this marketing website. It does not cover third-party services you choose to connect Termato to — those are governed by their own privacy policies (see section 6).

2. Data the Termato software collects

None of it leaves your machine. Everything Termato does — running terminals, storing session history, managing projects, serving live previews — happens locally on the server, desktop, or laptop you install it on.

  • No telemetry. Termato does not phone home, send usage statistics, or report crashes to us.
  • No analytics. There is no tracking baked into the application.
  • No account with us. You don't register with Termato to use it, so we hold no email, password, or profile for you.
  • Your data, your disk. Sessions, history, editor files, and configuration are stored on hardware you control.

3. AI features

When you use Termato's AI features, requests go directly from your machine to your chosen AI provider (for example Anthropic's Claude) under your own API credentials or subscription. We are not an intermediary, we do not proxy those requests, and we never see their contents. Your use of any AI provider is subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

4. Connectivity (Cloudflare Tunnel)

To reach your machine securely from another device, Termato can use an encrypted Cloudflare Tunnel. Traffic is encrypted end to end and the tunnel only ever reaches outward from your machine — no inbound ports are opened. Network routing is handled by Cloudflare and is subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not receive this traffic.

5. This website

This marketing site is a static page. It does not set tracking cookies, run advertising pixels, or load third-party analytics. The only external requests it makes are to load web fonts (Google Fonts) and the page's own assets. Whoever hosts the site may keep standard, short-lived server access logs (such as IP address and requested URL) for security and reliability, as is normal for any web server.

6. Third-party services

Termato links to and can integrate with services run by others. When you use them, their policies apply, not ours:

  • AI providers (e.g. Anthropic) — for chat and coding features, under your own account.
  • Cloudflare — for the optional secure tunnel.
  • GitHub — where the source, installation instructions, and issue tracker live.
  • Google Fonts — for typography on this website.

7. Cookies

This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. The Termato application may store preferences (such as your dev/prod mode choice) locally in your own browser; that data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

8. Children

Termato is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — in fact, we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Because Termato's privacy model is structural — your data simply doesn't reach us — any changes are likely to be clarifications rather than reversals.
